Basic & Higher Surgical Training (1996-2007)

(Rapid progress through a highly competitive and comprehensive surgical training programme, incorporating various posts at renowned teaching hospitals throughout London, including Royal National Throat Nose & Ear Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Barts and the London Hospitals.)

 

CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in ORL-HNS awarded by PMETB (UK) October 2007.

 

Post-CCT sub-specialist Head & Neck / Endocrine training through travelling bursaries to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York and University of Pisa, Italy.

 

Presently holding substantive NHS Consultant Posts at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust (Northwick Park & St. Marks Hospitals, Central Middlesex hospital) and Mount Vernon Hospital Cancer Centre.

I have an active and keen interest in training, teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as Allied Health Professioinals & Primary Care Physicians. I organise and direct a number of successful National ENT courses and teach as faculty on a number of courses including  at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

 

 

I have published widely in peer-reviewed journals in several areas of ENT surgery. I have an enthusiastic interest in clinical research and am presently spear-heading a major multi-centre collaborative research project in London developing and piloting a non-invasive, diagnostic endoscopic screening tool for head & neck cancers.

 

Personal Info, Hobbies and Interests

I am married with 2 young children. I enjoy travelling and keeping fit, pursuing various outdoor leisure pursuits including hiking and cycling. I also enjoy listening to world music.
